40 years of Oztal Architects and a bold new chapter.

Milestone:
This year marks a milestone for Oztal Architects, 40 years of creating architecture that shapes communities and enriches lives. From our beginnings in 1985 to the diverse, design-led studio we are today, we are proud to celebrate four decades of creativity, collaboration, and enduring client partnerships.

The rebrand:
To mark this occasion, we are unveiling a new identity for Oztal Architects. Our refreshed brand reflects who we are today: contemporary, purposeful, and future-focused while staying true to the values that have guided us for 40 years. Stay tuned to our social media platforms as we introduce our new branding over the coming weeks.

The Shaw Wines Cellar Door located in Murrumbateman within the southern region of NSW is a striking structure that manifests the quality of wines produced by Shaw vineyard. Designed by Dean Kensit and Nick Pelle of Oztal Architects, this new facility for Shaw Wines is a destination for wine lovers and that aims to improve the tourism potential for this local wine region. Taste the full flavour as we take a quick tour…

“Within the building, there is a constant reminder and connection with wine. There are views of the vineyards in the distance, there are displays of signature wines and there is a glass sculpture made up of a collection of wine glasses that filters the light into the stairwell leading to the cellar below. The building provides a point of sale for Shaw Wines, but also provides a sanctuary where one can sit, enjoy a glass of wine and take in the spectacular countryside displaying the fruits of the vine.”

Oztal Architects knits a contemporary dwelling nestled into the suburban fabric of Crace in Canberra, Australia. Langtree House aims to create a small haven for a young family with an environment that captured the sun, had a sense of space, offered opportunity for separation between the adults and the children and embraced the outdoor space as an extension of the living areas within the home. The concept has been shown to be feasible, but not without challenges. Let’s take a closer look!

AUSTRALIA by DESIGN: Architecture is an important ‘document’ in the recording of Australian architecture. The forth series will
continue to have complete editorial freedom and will strive to bring accessibility and information to the viewing public whilst
uncovering the key ingredients in what makes each structure unique.
The series aims to bring beauty and creativity into the hearts and minds of Australians as we explore the impact of good design on
our lives, it gives viewers such a unique perspective of the design process, it’s part entertainment, part education.
There’s no other program that takes you behind the scenes in that way.

In this, the forth series of Australia by Design: Architecture, we will uncover and showcase the architectural statements that best
exemplify excellence in Australian architectural design.
At the conclusion of each episode, our lead architect and sponsors will announce which of the properties are the most
outstanding and therefore will go through to the best of the best final episode.
In the sixth and final episode, we countdown the Top 10 to determined which is Australia’s ultimate architectural statement of the
year.
