Dominic founded Oztal Architects in 1981 and has developed it into a renown architectural practice. He has over 30 years experience in the design and construction industry and has contributed to the advancement of architecture and the profession.

His professional experience has included positions of President of the Institute of Architects (ACT), Member of the Board of Architects (ACT), Chair of the Housing Industry Association Planning and Development Committee (ACT). Dominic was also the recipient of 2005 MBA (ACT) Professional Consultant of the Year.

Dominic is a motivating force within the practice and takes the leading role for project design, practice management and business development. His planning, design and collaboration skills are amongst his strongest assets. Dominic has worked successfully with clients, consultants, local authorities and local government and specialises in residential design, particularly medium- to high-density apartment and mixed-use developments.

Nick Pelle

Nick joined Oztal Architects in 1987 and became a partner in 1992. He quickly gained the respect and trust of clients and has undertaken a variety of projects that have drawn upon his specialist capabilities. At Oztal Architects, we believe that we are fortunate to have a partner of this calibre.

Nick has specialised knowledge and wide-ranging experience in the design and fit out of medical diagnostic clinics, mental health accommodation, childcare centres, student accommodation and visitor centers. With his experience in Post Occupancy Evaluation (POE), he has used POE research to write model design guidelines for child care facilities and has written and presented papers on POE approach to design improvement.

Over the years, Nick has participated in various community organisations at an executive level. He has provided ethno specific advice on issues that affect people with culturally and linguistically diverse background. He has been a board member of various organisations including the Italo Australian Club and is currently on the board of Home in Queanbeyan, which is a charity organization that provides accommodation for people with chronic mental illness.

As a partner of Oztal Architects, Nick’s responsibilities include project design, co-ordination of documentation, contract administration and management of office administration and procedures.

Frank Parisi

Frank joined Oztal Architects in 1989 and became a partner in 1992.

Since joining the firm, Frank has developed strong working relationships with our residential builder and developer clients and has completed a long list of multi-unit projects. His strengths lie in the planning, design and documentation of medium- to high-density residential developments, with particular knowledge and experience of construction aspects.

He has an intimate knowledge and understanding of development codes and their application and has built a strong working relationship with planning and local authorities, navigating developments through the approval process.

Dean Kensit

Dean joined the company in 2008 and through dedication and a passion for architecture has advanced to take on a leadership role within the practice.

Over the past decade Dean has proven himself across many projects and building typologies through rigorous and innovative outcomes with a commitment to design excellence. His diverse experience includes award winning projects in residential, mixed use / commercial and educational projects across all scales.

His passion for design, alongside his willingness to get the project across the line has made Dean a dedicated mentor for our team members.
